Jagdish Temple
was built in 1651 A.D. by Maharana Jagat Singh,
this Indo-Aryan temple is dedicated to Lord
Jagannath, a manifestation of Vishnu. The largest
and the most beautiful temple of Udaipur, it is
always seething with constant activity and noted for
its beautiful sculpted images and towering shikhara. |

This elevated temple
is easy to view from City Palace. The foothold of
the Jagdish temple steps has two spotless white
elephants on both the sides to greet you to the
temple. The exterior wall of the holy temple is made
up of local stone The principal god in this
pilgrimage center is lord Vishnu or jagannath which
is a idol of black stone. |

This is an ancient
temple and located around 20 km to the North of
Udaipur. Eklingji is a complex of 108 ancient
temples, which was built in AD 734, to propagate the
blessings of Lord Shiva, worshipped as the Ultimate
Reality, the supreme power, and the wholesome one -
Parabhrama, is venerated by the Mewar household.
The present temple of Eklingji is built on the ruins
of the ancient temple. The principal god of the
temple Lord Shiva has four faces. |
